Lucy Ofiesh

Lucy joined Crossref in 2019 as the Director of Finance and Operations, becoming our COO in 2024 and epanding the group to include technology and data science. Lucy’s background is in nonprofit management, with a focus on organizational growth, strategic planning, financial management, and building high functioning teams. Prior to joining Crossref, she was the Chief Operating Officer for the Center for Open Science, overseeing finance, operations, and tech. Before entering the scholarly infrastructure space, Lucy led operations for museums in New York. She lives in Charlottesville, Virginia where she can be found corralling two young boys.

2021 Board Election

We are pleased to share the 2021 board election slate. Crossref’s Nominating Committee received over 60 submissions from members worldwide to fill five open board seats. It was a fantastic group of applicants and showed the strength of our membership community. There are five seats open for election (three small, two large), and the Nominating Committee presents the following slate. Our annual open call for board nominations

Crossref’s Nominating Committee is inviting expressions of interest to join the Board of Directors of Crossref for the term starting in 2022. The committee will gather responses from those interested and create the slate of candidates that our membership will vote on in an election in September. Expressions of interest will be due Friday, June 25th, 2021. 2020 Board Election

This year, Crossref’s Nominating Committee assumed the task of developing a slate of candidates to fill six open board seats. We are grateful that in the midst of a challenging year, we received over 70 expressions of interest from all around the world, a 40% increase from last year’s response. It was an extraordinary pool of applicants and a testament to the strength of our membership community. There are six seats open for election (two large, four small), and the Nominating Committee is pleased to present the following slate.

Introducing our new Director of Finance & Operations

I’m happy to announce that Lucy Ofiesh has joined Crossref as our new Director of Finance and Operations. Lucy has experience supporting the sustainability and governance of not-for-profit organizations having held roles such as Executive Vice President of the Brooklyn Children’s Museum and for the last few years as Chief Operating Officer at Center for Open Science, a Crossref member.
